Sorry, I’ll try to clean it off and get it posted soon!
Well it seems that my wife has the Flu. They didn’t run any conclusive tests but they told her at the Health Clinic that she has the Flu, possibly the Swine Flu. I’m really not worried because the Swine Flu isn’t that much worse (if at all) than the regular Vanilla flavored Flu, just more fattening.
I’m excited to say that I’m almost done with College! I’ve got about 3 weeks until the end of the present semester, and next semester I have only 2 classes left! So at this point it’s entirely possible that I’ll have significantly more free time starting in the beginning of December. I don’t know why you’re not pumped—because I am!
I feel reasonably confident of my abilities as a Designer. I am not exactly poised to revolutionize the world of Graphic Communication, but I’ve noticed that I flourish when given a real life scenario much more so than a classroom scenario. So I think that when I get out there and get some real clients (possibly next month!) I’ll find myself doing much better work than I am now. I intend to keep growing. I intend to get better.
While revolutionizing things isn’t my goal, I do intend to rock the boat as much as I can.
I intend to think outside the jail-cell.
So last night I got a hankerin’ to paint again. It’s been a whole year, if not longer, since I’ve picked up a bristle brush and painted with oils. I had a lot of high hopes to begin with, which were quickly crashed when I started the painting. The real painting does look better than this (hoorah for cell phone cameras), but not much.
Half way through the painting I came to accept the fact that it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. I mean, it has been a LONG time since I’ve used oils so I shouldn’t have expected to pick them up and start painting with the same quality and speed that I did a year ago. Also this is the first time I’ve ever attempted a painting that could be classified as a portrait.
On an optimistic note I did notice that it wasn’t as bad as when I first started oils, which is good because I don’t ever want to go back there.
If you’re wondering who my Muse/model is: it’s my beautiful wife Lorrie. She looks much better than this painting.
Anyways… enjoy!
Well I did write a comic for today, and I drew it too.
The problem is that I forgot to scan it in and won’t be at a scanner again until tonight. It’s kind of funny that I’m never getting content on this site and when I do actually prepare the content ahead of time I forget to bring it. Oh well, it will be up soon enough. Look forward to it!
